October 7, Archbishop Lefebvre opens the seminary at Econe
November 1, the Society of Saint Pius X is canonically established in the Vatican II Church

Early 1970's a Traditionlist church is founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

1974

November 21, Archbishop Lefebvre issues his famous declaration.

1975

Archbishop Ngo-Dinh Thuc ordains Clemente and four others at Palmar de Troya, Spain for Archbishop Lefebvre

1976

January 11, Archbishop Ngo-Dinh Thuc consecrates Clemente and others at Palmar de Troya

Saint Jude's Shrine is founded in Stafford, Texas under the Society of Saint Pius X.

July 1 Pope Paul VI suspends Archbishop Lefebvre for ordaining priests on June 29

1978

July 11, Archbishop Lefebvre dedicates Queen of Angels Chapel in Dickinson, Texas.

July, the Society of Saint Pius X purchases the Jesuit Saint Marys College in Saint Marys, Kansas.

1980

August 10, the Society of Saint Pius X open another church in Kansas City, Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, which was purchased through an intermediary from the Vatican II Church.

1981

Archbishop Ngo-Dinh Thuc consecrates three bishops for the Traditionalist Catholic Church, Bishops Guerard des Lauriers, Moises Carmona and Aldolpho Zamora.

1983

Spring, Nine priests depart from the Society of Saint Pius X to form the Society of Saint Pius V.

1988

June 30, Archbishop Lefebvre, assisted by Bishop de Castro Meyer consecrates four bishops for the Traditionalist Catholic Church

Pope John Paul II authorizes the foundation of the Society of Saint Peter to receive ex-Society of Saint Pius X priests and seminarians into his church.
